Liked most was the friendly hospitality and helpfulness of the staff. Amy Hale was a blessing, a real gift to our experience of Ireland and Galway. Others who made our stay a delight were Oisín, Charis, Celine, Eoin, Rosella at the desk, and Mary who prepared our room for our visit. It is because of these people, among others, that our visit was an exceptional experience that we will always treasure.

Welcoming Galway is a small city with fantastic nightlife and an infectious atmosphere. Outside of the Galway Arts Festival, there’s still plenty of live music in the Irish pubs to get the party started.
The Galway Races at Ballybrit Race Course west of Galway Airport attract a good crowd, as does Eyre Square, a green space with flags of previous ruling families who gave it its nickname - City of Tribes. To the south are cobbled streets housing brightly colored shops and restaurants.
Sights in Galway include its cathedral and city museum which has an interesting insight into the history of the city and Ireland. Lynch’s Castle is the last remaining 17th-century merchant house, and the Spanish Arch is a small section of city walls by the Corrib River, linking Galway Bay to huge Loch Corrib. Where river and ocean meet is Claddagh Park, a great spot for a picnic with a view.
Further around the coast is Salthill Promenade, home to Atlantaquaria, Ireland’s national aquarium, focussing on sealife off Irish shores. It’s a Christmas Day tradition to jump from Blackrock Diving Tower nearby into the icy Atlantic Ocean, though you may well spot some wag giving it a go.
Booking.com has an excellent range of Galway hotels, apartments and B&Bs to complete your stay.
First of all, it is the people who make Galway special.
First of all, it is the people who make Galway special. In addition, we liked being able to walk everywhere in Galway. We enjoyed walking along the river and the bay, and sitting on the wall along the water at the harbor. Galway Museum at Spanish Arch was enlightening. Streets restricted to pedestrians made it safe and easy to stroll and browse as we passed by uplifting live music. There were so many pubs and restaurants serving every type of food that you may want. The ice cream and gelato shops, Gourmet Tarts, Butler's Chocolates, and Farmers' Market had special treats to enjoy. The Galway Bay Seafood Chowder at Blakes on Quay Street was the best chowder I've ever had in my life, and I've always liked chowder. Aran Sweater Market shipped my purchase of sweaters and hat home for me with quick, courteous and efficient service. Loved the humor of the local people whom we met while strolling in the neighborhoods. One caution, don't let something go by thinking that you will pick up a last minute item in the morning before leaving Galway to catch the train or a bus as this is the time the shops are closed for deliveries of new supplies. Glad I did what I wanted to do from the moment I arrived because there is so much to see and do!

I loved the hop on and off tour bus which we took up to salthill and back. The whole journey was narated, history unfolded I loved the traditional music in Taffees. We didn't have a bad meal wherever went . The architecture and history of galway is both beautiful and amazing. Our hotel was right next to the main train and bus station so ready access to main routes to airports and ferries etc. Local buses make getting around Galway very easy

We prefered to eat and drink in the West End and stayed clear of Shop Street other than when we hit the artists market where we could get locally made stuff. We had great food at Universal and grabbed drinks at the Bierhaus. We listened to fabulous music at the Crane- go for the experience (go upstairs) if nothing else! If you want to go to the Aran Islands, I recommend the Aran Island Ferries. They leave right from Galway Docks and take you to Inishmore. You get about 4 hours on the island (enough to take a horse and cart (a must!) to Dun Aonghasa and back but not much else) then it picks you up and returns via the Cliffs of Mohr. If you want longer or want a different island you'll have to go to one of the other ports (Doolin or Rossaveel) that will take you a while to get to. The weather was incredible, so we were outside the whole time and walked on the promendade to Salthill each night. We didn't have a car- the traffic was pretty heavy, so I was very glad we were on foot. If you do have a car, I would recommend parking at wherever you are staying and walking everywhere else if possible. If we had more time we would have ventured to Spiddal and to Connemara National Park, but we felt we had enough time to see Galway itself.

Galway is one of the best places we have been to and a favourite spot for our 1 or2 day trips very good for shopping and restaurants it’s a lovely city and one of our favour eating cafes is the Quays (the darling girl)and the Skeffington hotel (the Skeff) and Mcswiggens restaurant and the Ayer sq hotel
Breakfast was delicious. Great location for touring the Connemara Coast and very close to Galway City. Lovely view from Penthouse suite. The attention to detail at this Guesthouse was superb. Complimentary snacks and beverages, his and hers toweling robes, toiletries etc.. The host Fred was so helpful and considerate. All Covid precautions were in place so you felt safe but they were not intrusive. I would highly recommend Sea Breeze for a holiday in the West of Ireland.
The suite/room we stayed in was by far the best room we have had in Ireland. The staff omg 100 per cent and more. I don’t think I have ever stayed anywhere and recieved this high level of customer care. Breakfast amazing, and the room was amazing. Over 30 years we have been coming to all parts of Ireland and this is by far the best hotel we have stayed in. Thank you to all the staff you are amazing
The rooms are small, but comfortable and clear. The shared kitchen facilities are also great, which made breakfast prep quite a bit easier. It's a nice, quiet location outside of the city center. We've stayed at other dorms in Ireland, but this is the best one we stayed in by far, as this one was quiet and great for sleeping after long days of travel, tours, and hiking.
Very friendly staff over our stay with great service. We dined in the hotel both nights and the food was fantastic with a great menu. Our room had loads of space to store our motorbike gear and the bathroom had a great shower which was powerful and hot.
Location was very good also as the bus stop is right outside and we got the bus to the city center
The location, just above the top of Eyre Square was excellent. 2 x twin rooms booked. 1 dbl and 1 sgl in each room. Beds were very comfortable.
Whole hotel was spotlessly clean.
Breakfast was very good.
Excellent value for money - 2 persons sharing only 110 Euro, inclusive of full breakfast, so 55 Euro each for city center hotel.
The Hotel is located in a very nice area in the city center in proximity of restaurants, shops. The room was cozy and stylish, quite big and comfortable; unfortunately our window was looking into some roofs, but it was fine for a one-night stay.
Breakfast was a la carte, but also with some buffet. Very good Irish-breakfast!
I always stay at the Salthill Hotel, its perfect for Accessibility to the Beach,Promenade and City centre, it is Comfy, friendly the staff and exceptional service at Reception and in the restaurant/ bar are second to none. The Rooms are always very Comfy and Spotless clean.
Location was very good, short walk (<10 minutes) to city centre while also being in a very quiet, safe residential area. The rooms were very cleaned and came with toiletries and linen that was freshly clean. Beds and pillows were very comfortable as well.
This was the best hotel I stayed in in Ireland. Clean room. Comfy beds. Immaculate bathroom, desks and wardrobe.. Location to Galway was fantastic. Staff were great and the hotel restaraunt/bar was excellent. The only hotel that made my mother happy.
